[It's dark when Ava wakes up. It's dark, and she's alone. And....she hurts. It aches when she tries to move. Not that she really can, because she's tied up, but when she tries, it hurts.

She takes a deep breath. And another one. Because she knows very well that someone will come for her, if they're not already on their way.

Another deep breath. She tries to remember what happened. And she really has no clue. There'd been a drink, at the party. It must have been drugged. Everything went dark after that.

But someone was coming. And that someone was probably going to be Edward.]

[She'll hold on to him tighter, even though he's in the suit and can't feel it.]

You're not okay! You're hurt, and it's all my fault for not protecting you.

[She shakes her head, and gives him a look.]

[He's scooping her up and carrying her out, now.]

It is. I'm sorry.

[She loops her arms around his neck and holds on.]

No, it's really not. It's my fault for not being careful.

You didn't know. You're not a superhero. Nobody expects you to be one.

[He carefully kisses her cheek.]

I should still know better, considering my family, and this has been happening to me forever.

[Seriously Edward let her take the blame. She will fight you.]

You didn't... nobody expects you to. You're... I don't know. I can't think straight. Just hold on.

[He's flying her back down to street level.]

[She holds on even tighter.]

I'll be okay, though. I promise.

[He's going to buy her a garden and a star and half the moon after this.]

You've gotta be more careful.

And yes, I promise. I might just be sore from being stuck in a cramped room.

Jerks. Complete jerks. I'm gonna... [A sigh as the doctors come over.]

I'm gonna be a couple of feet away but I'm not leaving, okay?

[He's being nudged aside by the doctors, but he leans back in to kiss her anyway.]

[She kisses him back, and lets the doctors do their thing.

She's covered in bruises ridiculous and scrapes, and has a minor concussion and a sprained ankle. But she's alive, and that outweighs everything.]

See? I'll be fine.

I need to know everything that happened, okay? Everything. I need to fix this.

I was passed out most of the time, Edward. I can't remember.

And I really just want to go to bed right now. Can we do that, instead of you wanting to be the hero right away?

Also, she will kiss him again.]

You'll figure it out. I know you will. Just...not right this second.

I'm gonna take you home, then. And we're gonna stay home until everything settles down.

I'm calling a driver.

[Which he does from inside his helmet. Then he scoops her up into his arms, helmet set aside, and nuzzles her cheek.]

[She cuddles into him.]
